Peak District Air Accident Research - RAF Millom Museum Display

During the summer of 2004 myself and Mark Sheldon created a display about air accidents in the peak district for display at RAF Millom Museum. I was effectively in charge of creating the display boards with artifacts recovered from crash sites in and around the Peak District during the 1980s by the now defunct Macclesfield Historical Aviation Society.

Two weeks to go

The display with only two weeks before the first visitors

Our display contains artifacts from 14 aircraft each with there own descriptive text, written on the whole by Mark. Also we have put up some more general information about crashes in the Peak District.

One week left, but still not quite finished

After another week it was looking like a proper display.

The display is housed in the old squash court alongside the Lancashire Aircraft Investigation Team's displays, the display was first open to viewing the early September 2004. The display had to be installed over two weekends and disaster struck on the second when Mark's printer refused to print and we could not get the final few sets of text up on the wall that day, however they were e-mailed to Millom and were put up after we had left.
