The crew of DV600 were tasked with a night cross county flight, they departed RAF Finningley near Doncaster at about 21:00. At around 22:30 the aircraft flew into the wooded slopes on High Doat near Seatoller. To crash where the aircraft did it must have been descending from the north as it would have otherwise struck one of the higher mountains which surround the area.

Very little remains today at the crash site, this is one of the few items we found during our search of the very steep and wet slope the aircraft ploughed into.

Above is where the items shown above of was found.
