Miles Hawk Trainer Mk.III G-AJSF, flew into Kinder Low End on the 29th July 1957 whilst flying from Squires Gate, Blackpool, to Barton aerodrome in west Manchester, the flight should have lasted only 15 minutes but a 30 knot tail wind caused the aircraft to overshoot its destination in cloud.

Today next to nothing of the aircraft remains, just a few tiny fragments of silver doped canvas, with yellow underneath showing the aircrafts RAF history.

Thanks to Dave Earl for this photo of the site looking the opposite direction to my photo.
