Uninjured

The aircraft dived into the ground shortly after being abandoned by its pilot who had become lost and ran out of fuel.  Despite a number of attempts no one has so far been able to identify the aircraft involved, largely due to there being no surviving accident cards for Bulldog aircraft from between October 1934 and February 1935, though we do know it was a Bulldog as parts found during the 1980's are identical to panels found on a Bulldog and the type was named in newspapers in Leek.  Additionally the only Flt Lt Combe (spelt Coombe in the local paper) in the RAF in 1934 was Flt Lt A. R. Combe who was a staff pilot with 3 F.T.S.

The site today is still marked by a slight depression in the ground left by the aircraft.
