The aircraft, which was registered as a microlight and owned by a consortium, was being flown from Barton to Shacklewell Lodge in Rutland when it dived into the moorland after an apparent loss of control in poor visibility.

A scar on the grassy moorland marks the spot where the aircraft dived into the ground.

Scattered around it are numerous piece of plastic and fibre-glass.
