| Crew / Passengers | Rank if applicable | Position e.g. Pilot | Status |
| Clive Roy Briggs RAAF | Flight Sergeant | Pilot | Uninjured |
The pilot had wandered into the high ground around Buxton after becoming disorientated in poor weather. He pulled up sharply to avoid striking a hill and lost control of the aircraft, after this he abandoned the aircraft which crashed near to the RAF station at Harpur Hill.

A photograph taken from Axe Edge looking at where the aircraft crashed, the aircraft struck a barn adjacent to the farm in the centre of the photo and ended up in the yard. The pilot came down in a field below the farm and walked up to the house carrying his parachute.
