de Havilland Tigermoth Mk.II T6464 of No.24 Elementary Flying Training School crashed on Blindstones Moss near Oldham, on the 12th April 1945.

The pilot had taken off from Sealand at 09:50 for a cross country flight, just over 1.5 hours into the flight the pilot lost control of the aircraft in cloud and it then either span or dived into the ground on Blindstones Moss near to Chew Reservoir.

 

  The only metal parts of any size that remain visible at the site are these pieces of cowling.
