Unidentified aircraft forced landed near Buxton on the 7th August 1947

Crew / Passengers Rank - If Applicable Position e.g. Pilot Status
? ? Pilot Uninjured

This incident is recorded in the record book of No.28 Maintenance Unit at Harpur Hill. At 13:30 the Duty Officer was telephoned to inform him that an aircraft had crashed at Water Swallows on the north east side of Buxton. The MRT were sent out but when they arrived they found that it was not a crash but a precautionary forced landing because the pilot had become lost. Neither the aircraft type or even general description were recorded but it is thought that the aircraft was a small privately operated type.
