Wellington Mk.X HE226 of 17 OTU crashed on Bycliffe Moor near Conistone in Wharfedale North Yorkshire on the 28th May 1945 whilst on a cross country flight from Turweston.

The pilot of the aircraft was buried at Harrogate (Stonefall) Cemetery, below is photograph of his grave.
Due to the sun being low in the sky the detail on the headstone didn't show very well.

A large amount of airframe is still at the site, gathered into collections in pits.

Both of the tires from the main wheels are on site, although in a rather poor state. Would you like to mend this puncture?
