Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIA P7295 of 61 OTU RAF, crashed on Cadair Berwyn on
the 14th December 1942 whilst on a training flight from Rednal near Oswestry.
The following day a 61 OTU Lysander
was destroyed on Cadair Bronwen whilst searching for the Spitfire.

Sergeant Degail survived the cash but had broken both his legs
and died of exposure before help arrived.
A photo showing the area in which the aircraft crashed, I am
stood where we found some very small fragments.
