Bristol Beaufighter Mk.I R2152 of No.2 OTU flew into the ground on Urra Moor on the 28th April 1943.

The crew were on a training flight when the crashed in the heather moor land on Urra Moor causing the aircraft to completely disintegrate killing both crew.
The site in early 2003 was marked by a bare patch in the heather containing numerous pieces of the aircraft.
A couple of larger panels also remain at the site as shown by the photo above.
