This view is looking west towards the memorial, the aircraft crashed through the trees in the background after having impacted in the field beyond them.
During the 1980s numerous parts were found in the field by the Pennine Aircraft Recovery Team

 

The crew were buried at Stonefall Cemetery on the edge of Harrogate, the last resting place of over 1,000 UK and Commonwealth airmen who were killed while on active service in the North of England and Southern Scotland. Below are photographs of their graves.
