RF-4C Phantom 64-1018 of the 1st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron / 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing USAFE based at RAF Alconbury near Huntingdon, crashed at Unthank Plantation near Millthorpe, Dronfield on the 6th May 1970 after suffering engine problems, both crew ejected from the aircraft.

The area in foreground and going back to the trees is the crash site. There was at the time a large crater here but it was filled in.

There are a number of fragments scattered about the woods, this was found in under growth close to the filled in crater.
