Bristol Beaufighter Mk.I R2152 of No.2 OTU flew into the ground on Urra Moor on the 28th April 1943

The crew were on a training flight from RAF Catfoss in East Yorkshire when the aircraft crashed into the heather moor land on Urra Moor causing the it to completely disintegrate killing both crew.

The site in early 2003 was marked by a bare patch in the heather containing numerous pieces of the aircraft.
