Canadair Sabre Mk.6 23380, BB-380 of 421 Squadron RCAF, crashed on Iron Crag near Ennerdale Water on the 26th June 1959 while being ferried from Prestwick to France.

Above is a photo of a Canadair Sabre 6 with a serial not too far from that of 23380, its being 23363 only 17 out.

One of the few parts of the aircraft spread around where it flew into Iron Crag.  The rest of the aircraft is spread over some distance, and that means a return visit. 

F/O Starling was buried at Brookwood Military Cemetery in Surrey, above is his grave.
