Desoutter Mk.I G-AAPZ, damaged during a forced landing near Meerbrook

The pilot had attempted to land the aircraft in a long field running uphill, though possibly touched down late, the aircraft had not slowed much by the time it came to the end of the field so the pilot lifted it back into the aircraft to clear the wall, it more than likely stalled as the aircraft touched down and stopped shortly after the wall.

Since the incident the site has been quarried, so this is one of a few sites that are in mid-air. The aircraft had sat roughly above the far pile of rubbish on the right of the quarry entrance.
